Basic Function:
The Department of Accounting in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Enterpreneurship at Kent State University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor or the rank of Lecturer.

This position will be located on the Kent campus.
The Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship
holds

Best Undergraduate Business Programs in the nation. The Department of Accounting offers an undergraduate accounting major and minor, a Master of Science in Accounting
(MSA), a Master of Science in Accounting, Business Technology and Data Analytics (MSATA)
and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in
accounting, as well as accounting courses in the MBA programs

2026. The successful candidate will teach both in-person and online undergraduate and graduate courses in Taxation and other area as needed by the department. The candidate is expected to engage with the business community and will be actively involved with selected students and departmental-related initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
Practical or teaching experience in Taxation is required.
Candidates who can also teach in other account areas are preferred. Experienced Assistant Professors/Lecturers are encouraged to apply.
Candidates for the Assistant Professor level must have an earned terminal degree in Accounting or Taxation. Active professional certification(s) E.G., CPA, CMA, etc and teaching experience at the collegiate level are a plus. Research-active candidates may qualify for a reduction in teaching load when maintaining the scholarly academic AACSB status. Candidates for the Lecturer level must have a Master’s Degree in Accounting or a related area, an active CPA license, and at least five years of accounting-related professional experience. Teaching experience at the collegiate level is a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
