[Job Description]
The Graduate School of International Management (GSIM) at the International University of Japan (IUJ)
invites applications for a tenure-track full-time faculty position in the area of accounting. The rank is open (Assistant / Associate
/ Full), and applicants from any field of accounting are welcome. The appointment starts in September 2026 (or January 2027).
[Qualifications]
- Applicants should have completed a PhD in Accounting (or Finance with accounting emphasis) prior to
the start date of the position. - The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching the following MBA courses: “Financial
Accounting”, “Managerial Accounting”, and “Financial Statement Analysis”. - Previous industry experience and a professional license
are preferred but not necessary. - The language of instruction is English. Competence in the Japanese language is not
required.
The teaching load is four eight-week courses per academic year (96 hours in total). Compensation is commensurate with
academic accomplishments and experience, which are in line with the Japanese academic market. The minimum compensation for
Assistant,
Associate, and Full Professor will be 7 million JPY, 8 million JPY, and 9 million JPY, respectively. Research grants
are also available
through GSIM, contingent upon academic achievement.
IUJ is a private university located in Minamiuonuma, Niigata,
Japan, 90-minutes
away from Tokyo by a bullet train. Established in 1982, IUJ is Japan’s first graduate university offering only graduate
programs, and one of
the few that conducts all courses in English. GSIM is one of the top-ranked AACSB accredited schools in the

[Selection Process]
Document review of
