Job Summary
The Business Department at County College of Morris invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business with expertise in Business Information Systems, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement while integrating emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) into business education. This faculty member will prepare students for workforce readiness through applied learning, business technology applications, and entrepreneurial innovation.
Qualifications – Education
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- DBA or Ph.D. in a business-related field
- CPA, CMA, or other accounting certification.
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or similar.
- QuickBooks Certification.
Qualifications – Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education or secondary education.
- Proficiency in business software applications and instructional technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching across multiple business disciplines.
- Industry experience in accounting, business technology, or entrepreneurial ventures.
- Experience teaching online and hybrid courses.
- Experience with specialized accreditation for business programs (ACBSP, AACSB, IACBE)
- Bilingual (fluent in written and spoken Spanish)

Primary Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
Teach a full load of undergraduate courses across the curriculum but mainly in the areas of Business Information Systems, Accounting (Financial and/or Managerial), Bookkeeping (Payroll and )QuickBooks), Entrepreneurship / Small Business Management. Deliver instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Integrate hands-on software applications and real-world business simulations. Incorporate AI tools and platforms (e.g., generative AI, data analytics tools, automation software) into coursework. Teach students ethical and practical applications of AI in: Accounting systems, Business analytics, Entrepreneurial ventures, decision-making and forecasting; develop assignments that leverage AI for productivity, research, and business problem-solving; and promote AI literacy, responsible use, and academic integrity in business education.
Curriculum Development & Program Support
Develop and revise curriculum aligned with industry standards; support certificate and program initiatives (e.g., Bookkeeping, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Social Media); participate in learning outcomes assessment and accreditation reporting (ACBSP accreditation).
Student Engagement & Workforce Preparation
Advise and mentor students on academic pathways and careers; support internships, certifications, and experiential learning opportunities.
Service & Institutional Engagement
Serve on departmental and college committees; support student organizations, competitions, and entrepreneurship initiatives; participate in recruitment events, open houses, and community outreach.
Professional Development & Scholarship
Maintain knowledge in business technology, accounting practices, and entrepreneurial trends; engage in professional development related to AI, data analytics, and digital business tools; contribute to scholarly, pedagogical, or industry-based initiatives.
Desired AI & Technical Competencies
Experience using generative AI tools in teaching and business applications; knowledge of AI applications in accounting systems and financial analysis; familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools; understanding of automation, workflow systems, and digital entrepreneurship platforms; ability to teach ethical implications and governance of AI in business.
