Work Schedule
Teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year; approximately 12 credit hours per semester (4 courses). A research release for 3 credits per academic year may be granted if met the department’s accreditation requirements.
Position Summary
The School of Business at Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member to teach graduate and undergraduate Accounting courses beginning August 2026.
Instructional delivery may include traditional face-to-face, online, and alternative instructional methods. Teaching load might include classes in multiple related business disciplines based on the department’s and program’s needs. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is preferred.
Faculty members are required to:
1) Develop and teach face-to-face and online courses as necessary for the success of university programs
2) Engage in research and produce peer-reviewed journal articles as required in the faculty qualification policies
3) Perform academic advising and fulfill professional responsibilities
4) Perform department and university service.
Minimum Qualifications
ABD (with anticipated completion date prior to December 2026) or doctoral degree in Accounting or related area from an AACSB-accredited program AND one or more accounting related certifications are required.
Successful performance in an interview, including a research
demonstration and teaching demonstration is required.
Commitment to the education of diverse populations, perceived ability
to work productively with students and colleagues, and engagement in
appropriate research endeavors is required.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) Doctoral degree in Accounting or related area from an AACSB-accredited program (or ABD with anticipated completion date prior to December 2026)
(2) Accounting Certification (CPA, CIA, CMA, CFE, CISA)
