Position Title: Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF) Site Director, Technical Instructor (Business Bookkeeping and
Accounting)

Position Summary:
This
dual-role position is divided equally between serving as the Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF) Site Director and teaching as a Business
Bookkeeping and Accounting Technical Instructor. The Site Director ensures the effective management of programs and services for
incarcerated students at a Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) facility, while the instructor role focuses on delivering high-quality
education in bookkeeping and accounting to Washburn Tech students.

Essential Functions:
TCF Site Director:
1. Program Oversight and
Student Engagement:
Lead the Student Voice Council, fostering student engagement and input.
Develop, update, and maintain the student
handbook to ensure clarity and alignment with institutional and KDOC policies.
2. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with
the warden and facility staff to ensure effective communication and program implementation.
Attend quarterly local and biannual statewide
planning and collaboration meetings.
3. Compliance and Reporting:
Complete all required KDOC reports accurately and on
time.
Participate in and fulfill all KDOC background check and training requirements.
Ensure staff working with incarcerated
individuals are familiar with KDOC policies and the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
Monitor completion of yearly training
requirements for staff and address non-compliance promptly.
4. Program Management:
Maintain the Facility Program Experience Record
(FPER) for each student’s enrollment.
Support institutional compliance with KDOC policies, non-discrimination laws, and other applicable
statutes.
Ensure adherence to Postsecondary Education Program (PEP) guidelines and reporting requirements.
Distribute devices as
required by KDOC and maintain associated records.
5. Student Recruitment and Support:
Recruit students for programs and services
offered at the facility.
Assist students with enrollment processes and address financial aid issues, ensuring access to available
resources and support.
Work collaboratively with Student Services to resolve student issues and concerns.
Act as the primary contact
for employment engagement activities, such as job fairs, campus visitors, and related events.
6. Perform additional job-related duties as
assigned or as appropriate.
Business Bookkeeping and Accounting Technical Instructor:
1. Instructional Delivery:
Teach courses
in Business Bookkeeping and Accounting, ensuring the curriculum aligns with industry standards and student learning outcomes.
Develop
lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments tailored to diverse learning styles.
2. Student Support:
Provide academic
support, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
Maintain accurate student records, including grades and attendance.
3.
Professional Development:
Stay current with trends in Business Bookkeeping and Accounting and technical education through professional
development activities.
Foster partnerships with local businesses to support work-based learning opportunities.
4.
Compliance:
Ensure all instructional activities comply with Washburn Tech policies and accreditation standards.
Perform additional
job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant
field (e.g., Business, Accounting, Education) required. - Demonstrated effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal
skills. - Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to pass KDOC background and drug test.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in correctional education or technical instruction is highly
desirable. - Familiarity with KDOC policies and procedures or willingness to complete required training.
- Ability to work
effectively in both correctional and educational environments.
