Position Description:
The University of Louisville College of Business is seeking to hire Part-Time Lecturers (PTLs). PTLs will be hired to teach face-to-face undergraduate courses in the Accountancy program. Potential teaching areas include, but are not limited to introductory accounting, intermediate accounting, managerial accounting, audit and assurance services, taxation, not-for-profit/governmental accounting, advanced accounting, financial statement analysis, internal audit, business valuation, and accounting information systems (including analytics).
Face-to-face courses are typically scheduled with flexibility, including late afternoons and early evenings. Online (distance education) courses may be offered only after a PTL has completed at least three semesters of teaching with favorable evaluations at the University of Louisville. All newly hired PTLs will initially teach face-to-face courses.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree in accounting or bachelor’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in accounting or bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA certification (for individuals certified prior to the 150-hour rule) or Juris Doctor (JD) for commercial law and tax courses.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a field related to the course taught.
- Preferred: Active CPA or other relevant accounting certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CFE, ABV) for accounting courses.
- Required: Active state bar membership for commercial law (CLAW) courses; LL.M. in taxation sufficient for tax courses.
