The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University invites applications for a
full-time, non-tenure system faculty position in Accounting. The appointment – at the rank of Professor of Practice – may be for one, two,
or three years, beginning July 1, 2026. Salary, teaching load, and benefits are competitive with other major research institutions. Hiring
for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.
We seek an energetic, motivating professor with deep
knowledge and classroom experience across the accounting curriculum. Prior experience teaching Auditing and Advanced Financial Accounting is
highly valued.
Professors of Practice at the Freeman School deliver rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses, often with an
experiential learning focus, and are expected to remain active in their fields through professional and scholarly activities. Service to the
Freeman School and Tulane University is also expected.
Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to be
either:
- Professionally qualified – Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field and a substantial record of recent
professional experience, which may include CPA certification; or - Academically qualified – Ph.D. in Accounting and actively
engaged in scholarly and/or professional engagement activities.
We seek collegial candidates with demonstrated excellence in
communication skills and/or success in classroom teaching, experience with experiential learning, and the ability to build relationships
with industry partners.
