Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an Open-Rank Professor/Instructor of Accounting to begin Fall Semester 2026. Primary
responsibilities include teaching, undergraduate advising, and university service. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to
excellence in teaching and collegial collaboration in a liberal arts environment.
Responsibilities
- The
position requires mentorship of students, course development, curriculum revision, and continued improvement of the business major and
pre-MAcc concentration. - Teaching responsibilities include principles of financial accounting and related introductory and
upper-division accounting courses in the Business major and Pre-MAcc professional concentration.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Candidates should have graduate training and
teaching experience in Accounting. - The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching in small classes.
Preferred Qualifications
- A PhD in Accounting is strongly preferred.
