Job Description:
The Department of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Information Systems in the College of
Business and Economics is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track, one-year visiting position (F0082) at the rank of Assistant
Professor beginning in August 2026.
The AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics offers an undergraduate degree in
Business Administration with concentrations in six disciplines, including Accounting, as well as a fully online MBA program.
The
ideal candidate will have a demonstrated emphasis in teaching and research related to accounting. The candidate will also have the ability
to teach a variety of subjects at the undergraduate level (BSBA) and graduate level (MBA), in areas including Principles, Tax Accounting,
Fraud, and Accounting Information System courses. The successful candidate should have sufficient technical experience to provide hands-on
experiences and meaningful instruction to supplement traditional textbook/lecture material for students. Applicants will be expected to
contribute to excellence in education through teaching and service to the college, university, and community.
This position is
located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University’s campus.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution (preferred). ABD
candidates will be considered but should be on schedule to complete their degree by May 2026. Professional experience of at least 3 years is
preferred, but not required. Candidates with a CPA are preferred.
Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. The
successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, interest in active and
collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology, and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment. A
demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the
university’s mission is preferred.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, one-year
visiting instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful fingerprint-based
