Position Profile
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with professional accounting industry experience seeking a work life balance whose passion also includes challenging, motivating, and encouraging students in pursuit of their educational goals. The successful candidate will be expected to provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate course levels. All areas of teaching will be considered, but the need is greatest in financial accounting and tax courses. Represented by the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors, AAUP, full-time faculty enjoy a collegial governance system embodying the values and principles of shared governance, mutual respect, and professionalism.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria
Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:
Education:
All applicants must possess a terminal degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited university.
ABD Candidates – Special Note: Applicants who are ABD candidates may be considered upon evidence of anticipated completion within one year of hire.
Experience and Training:
Ideal Candidate
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
- Doctorate in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited university, preferably from an AACSB accredited program.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in the field of accounting or closely related discipline at a college or university.
- Demonstrated accounting industry experience, preferably at the level of manager or above.
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant, CPA; Certified Management Accountant, CMA; Certified Internal Auditor, CIA; Enrolled Agent, EA.
- Demonstrated AASCB Scholarly Academic record of current and relevant scholarship and activities related to the field of teaching.
- Scholarly Academics are expected to have produced peer or editorial reviewed publications related to their field of teaching as part of their portfolio of scholarship.
*Candidates who possess a Doctorate or terminal degree plus at least five (5) years of full-time service in a college or university in a rank of Assistant Professor or above or its comparable equivalent may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.

Compensation and Employee Benefits
In accordance with the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining Union Contract, compensation for this position is at the rank of Assistant Professor for 2024-2025.
