General Function
The Instructor NT is a
non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in
research or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties
The successful candidate will teach at the
graduate and undergraduate level
in Accounting. Course modalities would include seated or online.
The candidate is also expected to
maintain AACSB faculty qualifications and provide
service to the School of Accountancy, College of Business, Missouri State
University,
and the Accounting profession. The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.
Minimum Acceptable
Qualifications
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential
or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is
required.
Additional Qualifications
The instructor position requires a Masters in Accounting or Business
Administration from an AACSB-accredited institution with 18-graduate credit hours in an accounting, 3+ years of professional accounting
experience, and an accounting certification. OR the instructor position can have a JD from an ABA accredited law school with appropriate
academic preparation in taxation such as an LLM in taxation from an ABA accredited law school or a master’s in taxation from an AACSB
accredited institution. Candidates must be AACSB academically qualified.
