The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee conducted its Golden Jubilee reunion of its 1975 alumni batch, marking 50 years since the cohort graduated from the institute. The reunion, held on the Roorkee campus, saw participation from over 250 alumni along with their family members, according to an official statement issued by the institute.
The event provided an opportunity for former students to reconnect with peers, revisit academic and residential spaces on campus, and engage with the institute’s current leadership and faculty members.
During the reunion, the 1975 batch collectively announced a contribution of around Rs 45 lakh towards campus infrastructure and services. According to an official statement, the contribution includes the provision of two electric carts intended to support internal mobility on campus, particularly for visitors, senior citizens, and residents requiring assisted transport.
The alumni have also proposed support for the procurement of a high-end ultrasound machine for the campus hospital. The equipment is expected to support diagnostic services for students, staff, and residents associated with the institute. The proposal is currently under consideration by the institute administration.
