In a major shift to its undergraduate structure, IIT BHU Varanasi has announced that several five-year Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) programmes will not be offered this year, following a complete overhaul of the model. The institute said the decision stems from a comprehensive curriculum restructuring exercise undertaken in 2024–25 to align its undergraduate programmes with the National Education Policy (NEP). A key reason, IIT BHU noted, was the “inflexible” nature of the older IDD structure. In its response to a query by indianexpress.com, IIT BHU Varanasi explained that students admitted to the earlier IDD programmes were required to complete a five-year integrated…
The lesson, Ranjbar said, is different for the CISO. “CISOs have historically suffered from the swivel-chair problem: one screen shows the vulnerability and another screen is needed to patch it. This deal collapses that gap. It validates that visibility is the new perimeter. As OT and IT converge, the attack surface has become too complex for fragmented tools. CISOs should view this as a mandate to consolidate their visibility stacks.” Sanchit Vir Gogia, the chief analyst at Greyhound Research, agreed that this acquisition will likely accelerate IT and security structural changes. “This acquisition represents a fundamental repositioning of ServiceNow from…

The next phase of India’s response must be blunt and industrial. Domestic producers need assured orders, technology induction, mass production, faster user trials, long-term procurement commitments, and export push from day one. For decades, the India–Pakistan military equation rested on the old grammar of conventional strength, political signalling and nuclear deterrence. Each crisis tended to circle familiar patterns: an attack, a mobilisation, a calibrated response. But that framework no longer captures the reality taking shape on the ground. Op Sindoor marked a strategic turning point in the new grammar of response. The most decisive shift in the subcontinent’s security landscape…
The group said that each of these attributes was necessary for versatility across domains. However, when taken too far, or when other attributes are missing, they can become an obstacle, the group noted. One example cited was Rust’s powerful type system, which allows modeling the application domain and prevents bugs but sometimes feels more complex than the problem itself. Another example cited was async Rust, which has fueled a huge jump in using Rust to build network systems but feels “altogether more difficult” than sync Rust. A third obstacle, the group said, was the wealth of crates on crates.io, which…

It involved Aadhaar-based face authentication to verify the identity of the candidates. A press note from the Ministry of Electronics…
