The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a two-day edit window for candidates to correct or modify particulars in their online application forms for the Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026). The move comes after the closing date for receipt of applications, providing a final opportunity for applicants to rectify errors ahead of the competitive examination.
According to the CBSE notice, the correction facility will be available from December 29 (Monday) to December 30 (Tuesday), 2025 (up to 11:59 pm). Candidates are advised to use this window carefully, as no further chances will be granted for editing details.
The DRQ2026 is being conducted on an All-India competitive examination basis to recruit personnel for various Group A, B and C posts within the CBSE. A total of 124 vacancies have been notified across multiple non-teaching and administrative roles, creating a significant opportunity for job seekers interested in a central government educational organisation under the Ministry of Education.
The recruitment covers posts such as Assistant Secretary, Assistant Professor & Assistant Director in different domains, Accounts Officer, Superintendent, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant. These vacancies span Pay Levels 2, 6 and 10 under the 7th Central Pay Commission and are open to eligible candidates from anywhere in India.
What can be corrected in the correction-window
The CBSE notice specifies that only candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms along with the required fees will be allowed to make corrections. The edit window is one-time only and meant to reduce hardship by allowing applicants to fix errors before final submission.

Fields NOT-allowed for correction includes– registered mobile number, registered email ID, examination centre preference, application number, date of birth, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD), identity proof details (Aadhaar/Passport/Voter ID, if wrongly entered), correspondence/permanent address.
Any final updates will be applicable only after payment of any additional fees required following the changes. Candidates must be cautious while making modifications, as excess fee payment will not be refunded.

How to edit fields during correction window
To access the correction window, candidates should visit the official CBSE recruitment page and log in with their credentials. Once logged in, they can navigate to their submitted application and make permitted corrections. After editing, candidates must recheck all modified fields before final saving and payment.
In its notice, the CBSE has statedollowing the correction period, no further changes will be entertained. The Direct Recruitment Quota Examination schedule and subsequent selection stages — including Tier-I, Tier-II and interview or skill test phases — will proceed as per the notification.
