The Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) will soon revise the honorarium for all board-related duties, including examinations, practical exams, flying squad deployment, and answer sheet evaluation. The board held a meeting on Monday with the School Cadre Lecturer Association of Haryana (SLAH), following which it announced an agreement to increase honorarium for these duties.
The meeting was attended by HBSE Chairman Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma and OSD Samarveer Singh, with the SLAH delegation led by state president Ashok Kumar Sharma. The discussions focused on addressing practical issues related to board examinations, practical assessments, flying squads, marking work, and other academic and administrative matters.
During the session, the board agreed in principle to most of the demands presented by the association, including an increase in honorarium across all types of board duties.
SLAH welcomed the board’s decision to provide answer sheets similar to those used in main examinations, describing it as a forward-looking step in the academic interest of students. Other issues discussed included arrangements at examination centres, measures to prevent copying, security, teacher facilities and respect, appointment of external examiners for practical exams, strengthening online processes, and correcting students’ name and date-of-birth errors.
The teachers’ association chair Ashok Kumar Sharma emphasised that SLAH’s goal is to ensure a transparent, fair, and high-quality examination system. He expressed confidence that the in-principle agreements reached during the meeting would soon result in concrete actions benefiting both teachers and students.
Meanwhile, HBSE has postponed the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026. The exam, earlier scheduled for January 17 and 18, is now likely to be held in the last week of the month. According to Board Chairman Dr Pawan Kumar, the dates were deferred as the schedule was still being finalised. He added that admit cards will be issued after January 20.
