POSITION
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Management Department Head and the Dean of the Business Division, the full-time
faculty member’s primary duty is the instruction of Business and Accounting. Faculty teach day or evening classes (credit or non-credit)
throughout the year in a variety of formats (online and on-ground) and at several locations, including off-campus sites and local high
schools within the College’s service area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teaching Excellence and Program
Innovation
Serve as a member of the Management Department within the Business and Industry Division for the Teaching
Excellence strategic theme of the College’s Strategic Plan:
Course and Curriculum Development
- Select
texts, supplemental documents, supplies, and other learning resources, including OER. - Develop supplemental instructional
materials. - Use current technology in preparation, creation, and delivery of instruction.
- Create and revise courses and/or
curricula as needed - Maintain updated course syllabi.
Professional Growth
- Remain current
within the field of assigned instruction, related occupational areas, and technologies. - Acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of
current instructional methodologies and materials. - Attend scheduled college, divisional, and departmental professional development
and in-service activities - Participate in the annual faculty evaluation process.
Service to
Students
- Assist in recruitment, selection, orientation, and evaluation of potential students.
- Assist in
placement activities for employment and/or transfer to four-year institutions. - Support student activities.
Service to the College and Community
- Assist in recruitment and selection of college personnel as
assigned. - Participate in accreditation, assessment, and performance funding processes.
- Serve on committees,
organizations, and task forces
- Support and participate in college/division/department meetings, committees,
organizations, and task forces to inform decision-making. - Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues.
- Strengthen relationships between the college and the community through outreach activities.
Academic
Advising
- Support the Academic Advising Center.
- Stay current with the relevant Tennessee Transfer
Pathways. - Participate in regular reviews of relevant Tennessee Transfer Pathways.

needed.

Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the instructional process
- Evaluating students and monitoring progress
- Utilizing the Learning Management
System (LMS) - Assigning mid-term and final grades
- Maintaining attendance and grade records
- Advising students
regarding academic preparation and career goals - Supporting student retention
- Maintaining required classroom and office
hours
Fiscal Stewardship
- Support the responsible fiscal stewardship of funds allocated to the
Business Division.
Organizational Culture

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Master’s degree in
Business Administration from a regionally accredited institution OR - Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester
hours in Accounting.
Preferred:
- Previous community college teaching experience.
- Curriculum development experience.
- Experience teaching Business and/or Accounting courses.
Projected
Salary Range:
Instructor: $41,555 – $50,900
Commensurate with experience and aligned with
Tennessee Board of Regents salary guidelines.
