Ananth Technologies Private Limited (ATL), an Indian aerospace and defence technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to collaborate on the design, development and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems for defence and aerospace applications.
The MoU, signed in Bengaluru, envisages cooperation between the two companies across strategic technology areas, including missiles, radars, satellites and navigation systems.
Under the agreement, ATL and BEL will explore opportunities to jointly design, develop and manufacture advanced systems and subsystems for defence and aerospace programmes. The partnership seeks to combine BEL’s capabilities in sophisticated defence electronics with Ananth Technologies’ expertise in high-reliability aerospace and defence electronics, satellite systems, avionics, navigation technologies and advanced manufacturing.
Anurup Pavuluri, Managing Director, Ananth Technologies, said the partnership would place a strong emphasis on indigenous capabilities.
“The partnership will focus on indigenous design and development, system engineering, electronics manufacturing, integration, testing and production for current and future programmes of strategic importance,” Pavuluri said.
The collaboration is expected to support India’s efforts to strengthen domestic capabilities in defence and aerospace manufacturing, reduce dependence on imported technologies and accelerate the development of indigenous systems for the Indian Armed Forces and the country’s space programmes.
The partnership also comes as India seeks to expand the role of domestic public and private sector companies in strategic technology programmes. Collaboration between defence public sector enterprises and private technology companies is increasingly becoming an important part of efforts to deepen India’s indigenous defence industrial and technological base.
Ananth Technologies has more than three decades of experience in aerospace and defence technologies, with capabilities spanning satellite systems, launch vehicle avionics, missile electronics, navigation systems, RF and seeker technologies, electronics manufacturing and system integration.
BEL is a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence and a major supplier of electronic systems to the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Alongside its core defence electronics portfolio, the company has expanded into space electronics and satellite integration, cyber security, homeland security, rail and metro systems, telecom, energy storage, medical electronics and other technology-intensive sectors.
