Last date tomorrow, September 1: CBSE has kept CTET September 2026 registrations open till Tuesday. Aspirants who missed the first window should apply now. The exam was earlier notified for September 6. CBSE says a revised date will be announced after registrations close.
CBSE’s August 25 public notice reopens the online portal from August 25 to September 1. It clarifies, “from 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026” and that the “revised date… will be announced” after closure. The CTET homepage currently displays “date extended till 01.09.2026” for applicants.
CTET eligibility: Paper I vs Paper II as per NCTE norms
Paper I targets classes I to V. Eligibility includes Senior Secondary with 50 percent and a two‑year Diploma in Elementary Education, or 50 percent with a four‑year Bachelor of Elementary Education. Graduates with a two‑year Diploma also qualify. For Paper II, graduation with Bachelor of Education qualifies. Reserved categories get five percent relaxation.
CTET September 2026 fees and category relaxations
Application fees remain unchanged for this session. General and Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer) pay one thousand rupees for a single paper, and one thousand two hundred for both. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and persons with disabilities pay five hundred or six hundred respectively. Applicable Goods and Services Tax is extra.

CTET photo and signature specs, Aadhaar-linked tips
Keep images ready before logging in. Upload a recent photograph between ten and one hundred kilobytes, sized 3.5 by 4.5 centimetres. Signature must be three to thirty kilobytes, sized 3.5 by 1.5 centimetres. Use JPG or JPEG. Enter name and birth date exactly as on Class X and Aadhaar to avoid mismatches.
How to apply fast and handle payment glitches
Follow this flow: register, fill the form, upload images, pay, then print the confirmation page. Use cards or net banking. If fee status is not OK after a card payment, the amount is refunded within a week, and you must repay. Net banking failures need a fresh payment. Try off‑peak hours to avoid gateway congestion.
Common form errors and CTET correction options
Avoid duplicate applications, name mismatches, and unselected Paper II subject. CBSE allows a short online correction window for key particulars, as notified. Examination city changes are not entertained, as per the May 8 notice. Keep the application number and confirmation page safe. With the portal open only till September 1, submit in off‑peak hours and track payment before logging out.
