Two things still move today. PwD appellate re-assessment runs until 10:30 A.M. Choice locking stays open till noon. MCC has added 183 MBBS and BDS seats to the Round 3 matrix. Refresh options and lock once; the portal will not unlock choices.
NEET UG Round 3 choice-lock and upgradation rules
Upgradation stays open through Round 3 for candidates who opted float. If allotted in Round 3, you must join the institute. Non-joining triggers security deposit forfeiture and elimination from further MCC rounds. Upgraded candidates cannot claim their previous Round 2 seat.
Free-exit, resignation, and security deposit forfeiture
Round 1 offers a free-exit option if you skip joining. From Round 2 onward, leaving an allotted seat means exit with forfeiture of the security deposit. Refunds start only after counselling closes, within the notified timeline. Wrong information or missing documents can also cause forfeiture.
AIQ and state counselling: overlap and weeding out
Centre and States share data after Round 3 to weed out duplicates. If allotted anywhere, you are removed from the All India Stray round. State verification and joining overlap MCC reporting from October 1 to 9, so time resignations and switches to the notified windows.
Reporting documents and bond formats for MBBS/BDS
Carry originals and copies: MCC allotment letter, NTA admit card, rank letter, Class 10 and 12 certificates and mark sheets, photographs, and government identity proof. Add OBC-Non Creamy Layer as per Central list, EWS certificate in MCC format, and PwBD eligibility, if applicable. Bond and fee details follow college notices.
Set an alarm for 12:00 noon today, September 28, and lock thoughtfully. Watch for results on September 30, then report October 1–9 with complete files. If unallotted, prepare for the Stray Vacancy window from October 12 to 17. Keep preferences realistic and documents updated to avoid last-minute shocks.
