Position Description Summary
The Discipline of Accounting at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for one (1) full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Accounting beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
The home campus for this position is Lock Haven with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Duties
Duties will include teaching accounting-related classes at the undergraduate/graduate level, advising, research, and service activities. Instructional delivery can occur through traditional, online, and alternative instructional methods on-campus or at off-site educational locations. Summer and winter contracts may be available and are optional for faculty members. Advisement of student organizations is expected.
The successful candidate will need to complete distance education training programs as made available by the University within two years of hire for the purpose of teaching in a multi-campus environment with remote teaching needs.
Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)
Minimum Qualifications
- A doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Accounting or closely related discipline; OR current enrollment in a doctoral program in Accounting or in a closely related discipline at a regionally accredited institution with a residency requirement.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional Accounting experience including US GAAP.
- Demonstrated ability to teach college-level courses.
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly activity.
Preferred Qualifications
- A doctorate degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in Accounting or closely related area of study.
- A minimum of 2 years of public Accounting experience including US GAAP AND an active CPA certification.
- Record of excellent teaching at the college level.
- Record of scholarly activity.
- Professional development such as certifications, certificates, and training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
