Adjunct Instructor
for Accounting
Summary of Position: Teach undergraduate and graduate Accounting courses at the Brooklyn campus primarily
in our daytime program. Multiple delivery methods may include face-to face, on-line, and a hybrid/mixed delivery
format.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate teaching excellence. The Department of Business is dedicated to providing
a learning experience for its students that instills knowledge, competencies, and skills for entry level positions and job advancement in
their chosen careers. To facilitate this, faculty are expected to be student oriented and able to integrate current technology into the
learning environment. Office hours are required, one office hour per week for each course taught.
Candidates should have
excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience teaching or coaching in the Accounting industry is preferred. To
enhance the relevance and currency of the instruction, current Accounting practitioners are preferred.
This is a pooled
position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
Position Type:
Adjunct Faculty – Temporary & Continuing
Required Education: MBA or a masters in related field from an accredited
university. CPA Preferred.
Required Work Experience: Five years of substantial Accounting work experience. Excellent
interpersonal and strong communication skills
Additional Education/Experiences to be considered: MBA and teaching
experience in undergraduate and graduate Accounting courses and upper level executive Accounting work
experiences.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate Accounting courses in multiple delivery
methods that may include face-to face, on-line, and a hybrid/mixed delivery format.
Faculty members also have
professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times
convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student
participation data and submitting final grades on time).
Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line
environment.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification.
