Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday assured NEET UG candidates that the upcoming re-examination will be conducted without any errors and that results will be declared on time to minimise disruption to the academic calendar. Speaking to the media after reviewing preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination at the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters, Pradhan said the government has put in place extensive measures to ensure a transparent and secure examination process.
“We will bring out the exam results at the right time so that the learning time loss is not too much. I would like to reassure the students — you all should focus on your studies,” Pradhan said.

Pradhan said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the matter, is carrying out a thorough investigation. “The CBI is getting to the bottom of the paper leak case. I have full faith in the CBI to uncover the details of the irregularities that occurred. I have requested the CBI to take the strictest possible action against those found guilty and apprehended, and to ensure a speedy trial in a fast-track court,” he said.
Pradhan also said that the NTA is being strengthened with the addition of new officials and enhanced institutional mechanisms. He noted that the Union Home Secretary would hold a high-level meeting in the coming days to review preparedness.
The minister said security and logistical arrangements are being monitored at the highest levels of government. He said he has discussed the matter with Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while a meeting with Health Minister J P Nadda was also scheduled. According to Pradhan, the finance ministry is also monitoring the situation to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

He added that states have been asked to make suitable arrangements keeping local weather conditions and other regional factors in mind. District magistrates, superintendents of police and local authorities have been instructed to ensure all necessary facilities at examination centres. Pradhan said senior officials are in direct contact with district administrations across the country to identify areas that may require special attention.
According to the minister, the examination is expected to be conducted across 551 cities. “All agencies are performing their duties. I am confident that the examination will be conducted across 551 cities this time. We assure the students that the examination will be conducted without any errors,” he said.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to students, Pradhan said authorities would ensure not only an error-free examination but also the timely declaration of results so that candidates do not lose valuable academic time. “We had earlier assured students that we would conduct an error-free examination and I want to assure them once again. We will also ensure that the results are declared on time,” he said.
Referring to the investigation into the irregularities in the cancelled examination, the minister said the CBI is continuing to probe the matter. He expressed confidence in the agency’s efforts and said the government has requested strict action against those found responsible. According to Pradhan, those guilty should face criminal proceedings, speedy trials in fast-track courts and exemplary punishment. He also said the NTA has been directed to examine possible legal remedies against entities that breached contractual obligations linked to the examination process.
