
The 5th edition of the Khelo India University Games 2025 (KIUG 2025) was held across seven cities in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur, from 24 November to 5 December 2025.
- Chandigarh University, Gharuan (Punjab), topped the medal tally with a total of 67 medals (42 gold, 14 silver, and 11 bronze).
- Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab, secured second place with a total of 78 medals (32 gold, 24 silver, and 22 bronze), and Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar (Punjab), secured third place with a total of 72 medals (32 gold, 22 silver, and 18 bronze).

About Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025:
Organiser: KUIG 2025, a multi-sport event, was organized under the Khelo India Programme by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC).
Host State: Rajasthan
Participants: 4,448 athletes from 222 universities
Medal Sports: The 23 medal sports are Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kayaking and Canoeing, Mallakhamb, Rugby, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Yogasana.
Newly Added: Kho-kho will be a demonstration event. For the first time, beach volleyball, canoeing and kayaking, and cycling are being introduced in the KIUG programme.
Background: KIUG launched in 2020 under the Khelo India Programme, MYAS to promote university-level sports, identify young talent, and support athletes under Khelo India Talent Development Scheme.
1st edition: The inaugural edition, held in Odisha from 22 February to 1 March 2020.

Top Athletes:
- Nataraj: Olympian Srihari Nataraj of Jain University emerged as the most successful athlete with 9 gold and 2 silver medals in swimming.
- Pooja: High jumper Pooja Singh set a new KIUG meet record with a 1.77 meter (m) clearance on debut.
- Aditi: Former world champion Aditi Swami of Shivaji University won gold in women’s compound archery on her KIUG debut.
- Mansi: Wrestler Mansi Lather secured gold in the women’s 73 kilogram (kg) category.
- Sarabjot: Panjab University’s Sarabjot Singh won two medals across individual and team pistol events.
- Ashi: Asian Games medallist Ashi Chouksey clinched gold in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event.
Records: Athletes set 12 new meet records, including 2 All India University (AIU) records.
Kabaddi: Chandigarh University won women’s gold while Lovely Professional University won men’s gold.
Volleyball: Lovely Professional University claimed women’s volleyball gold
Boxing: Multiple gold medals were won by athletes from Guru Kashi University, Lovely Professional University, and Panjab University.
