Sequoias Community College District is seeking a qualified and equity-minded candidate to
fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the Accounting Department beginning August 2026.
Assignments may include evening classes
and teaching at any of the Sequoias Community College District Campuses: Visalia, Hanford and/or Tulare. Participation in
the governance of the Sequoias Community College District by way of committee assignments is encouraged.
*College of the Sequoias
offers lecture-lab pay parity, as well as overload and large lecture compensation that may be additional.

Job
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory accounting and related business courses.
Accounting faculty will provide comprehensive classroom instruction to community college students in various modalities, including
face-to-face, online, hybrid, and direct study.
Other responsibilities include maintenance of office hours, active engagement with
campus culture, participation in departmental responsibilities, and the willingness to create and participate in and sustain an atmosphere
of equity, which is respectful of diversity District wide.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must meet the following criteria.
- Master’s in
accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR - Bachelor’s in business with accounting
emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND - Master’s
in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance OR - The equivalent.
(NOTE: A bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an
alternative qualification for this discipline.)
JOB REQUIRED CORE SYSTEM COMPETENCY
The candidate must also
demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual
orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students pursuant to Title 5 53022.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The Business
Division/Accounting Department is looking for evidence of the following:
- Recent successful teaching or
instructional experience at the adult, secondary, and / or postsecondary level within accounting. - Ability to make a positive
contribution to the instructional program at College of the Sequoias by developing instructional activities, course syllabi, course outlines
and other necessary material. - Ability to evaluate one’s pedagogy and subsequently to adapt that pedagogy to meet the learning needs
of students. - A background in business and computer accounting.
- Familiarity with the educational needs of students pursuing
careers in business and accounting. - Experience assessing progress relative to goals and working with a team to implement
improvements. - Experience and/or interest in maintaining an accounting program tailored to the needs of the students in the
community, which may include familiarity with the educational needs of students pursuing careers in business and accounting. - Enthusiastic participation in professional responsibilities, community and/or campus service.
- Confidence to work
independently but also able to coordinate with a team, particularly one that is distributed over multiple locations. - Successful
experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, demonstrated through a commitment to valuing and promoting diversity, equity, and
inclusion, and by using a variety of teaching strategies and assessment methods that support student engagement and
retention. - Experience with the community college environment and/or the culture of a primarily teaching
institution.
