At SUNY
Oneonta, the Department of Business is excited to announce a tenure-track opening for an Assistant Professor of Accounting,
with an appointment date beginning in Fall 2026. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student
advisement, college and community service, and continuing professional development.
The Department of Business is part of the School
of Liberal Arts and Business and is AACSB accredited. It is distinguished by small classes, highly accessible faculty, teamwork and
collaboration, and information-technology supported classrooms.

limited to:
- Teaching undergraduate accounting courses such as:
- Financial
- Managerial
- Tax
- Governmental
- Auditing
- Conducting research leading to publication in refereed
journals - Advising students
- Providing college service
- Engaging in continuing professional development
Salary: $100,000. SUNY Oneonta is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualifying employer. Information on SUNY’s

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- MBA or MS in Accounting with significant
relevant accounting experience and demonstrated teaching success with accounting material. OR Earned doctorate in either accounting or
related field and demonstrated teaching success with accounting material. ABD will be considered with stipulation that doctorate is
completed by time of appointment. - All applicants must have the potential to meet the Department’s qualification criteria for AACSB
standards, which may include scholarly academic, practice academic, scholarly practitioner, or instructional practitioner
classifications.
Additional:
- Teaching experience in accounting courses such as:
- Financial accounting
- Managerial or Cost Accounting
- Tax Accounting
- Auditing
Preferred:
- CPA or public accounting experience
- Refereed journal articles or work in other
scholarly or practitioner publication outlets in the accounting field within the last five years - Experience in teaching,
mentoring, and/or research - Experience working with and or serving diverse populations and/or multicultural populations
