The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a written Examination on 19/07/2026 for the recruitment of 349 Group-A category Sarkari Naukri vacancy posts of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) under Central Armed Forces Assistant Commandant Recruitment Examination, 2026 (Advt. UPSC Assistant Commandant CAPF Recruitment Exam 2026 Vacancies
- Vacancies: 349 vacancies
- BSF – 108
- CRPF – 106
- CISF – 70
- ITBP – 12
- SSB – 53
- Age: 20-25 years as of 1st August 2026. The upper age is relaxed for SC/ ST/ OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the notice.
- Sex: Both male and female candidates are eligible for appointment to the BSF, CRPF. However, only male candidates are eligible for appointment in ITBP.
Possession of an NCC B or C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. The desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of the Interview/ Personality Test only.
Pay Scale: Pay Level-10 ₹56100-177500 in 7th CPC Pay Matrix
Selection Procedure
Selection will be based on the basis of a written examination to be conducted on 19/07/2026 by the UPSC, followed by the Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test to be conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Personality Test/ Interview to be conducted by UPSC.
Application Fee
An application fee of ₹200/- (SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted) to be deposited either by using Net Banking Facility of any Bank or by using Visa/Master/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment for appearing in CAPF (ACs) Exam, 2026.
