Position Summary
Job Description:
The Graduate Programs in the Graham School of Business at York College of Pennsylvania are
pleased to invite applications to develop and teach an online section of Accounting Theory. This course will be offered asynchronously
during the Fall B 2026 session (October – December).
York College is a teaching-focused institution. The chosen candidate will be
expected to hold weekly office hours on Google Meet and to attend all meetings relevant to the position, either remotely or in person.
Outcome:
Successful offering of ACC 515 Accounting Theory, a required course in the Master of Accounting
program
Essential Functions
- Design course content
- Select textbook and/or course
materials - Deliver course content in the prescribed format
- Respond promptly to student questions via email
- Promptly
grade student work and submit grades on Canvas - Hold a weekly office hour in the evening on Google Meet
- Submit warning grades
and semester grades by the College’s due date - Complete College-wide online training programs related to campus safety and
cybersecurity - If selected, complete a satisfactory background check as mandated by state law
Experience and
Education Required
A successful candidate will have a master’s degree in business from an accredited (e.g. AACSB,
ACBSP, EQUIS) institution and, through a combination of education and experience, possess expertise in accounting theory. Preference will be
given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Accounting or a CPA and with both technical expertise and professional experience in business. A
successful candidate will also have two years of higher education teaching experience, utilizing online or hybrid course delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate
excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
Qualifications include the
ability to communicate with students and the public. The candidate must also be able to motivate students, be personable and professional,
and have patience with students. Organizational and time management skills are imperative to offering a successful online course.
