Lucknow, March 18: Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare ecosystem is entering a decisive phase of transformation. With a population exceeding 240 million and stark regional disparities, the state has made steady progress in expanding infrastructure, scaling public health schemes, and digitising services.
However, persistent gaps in access, workforce availability, and quality of care continue to pose structural challenges. As the state aligns its priorities with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, the focus is now shifting toward building a more integrated, technology-driven, and patient-centric healthcare system.
In this backdrop, ETGovernment is hosting the Healthcare Conclave 2026, Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow on March 18. The summit, themed “Transforming Healthcare Ecosystem for Viksit Bharat,” will bring together senior policymakers, global health experts, clinicians and industry leaders to deliberate on scalable models and policy frameworks that can accelerate healthcare outcomes across the state.
The summit will bring together key decision-makers, including Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak, ACS, Medical, Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education Amit Kumar Ghosh. Advisor to the Chief Minister and former DCGI Dr. G N Singh and Director, Health Systems Development at WHO SEARO Dr. Manoj Jhalani.
The inaugural session will set the tone with discussions on “Transforming UP’s Healthcare Infrastructure: AI & Digital Healthcare for Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047.” As digital public health platforms gain traction and artificial intelligence begins to reshape diagnostics and service delivery, the conversation is expected to focus on how technology can bridge last-mile gaps, improve efficiency, and enable data-driven governance in healthcare.
The conclave agenda spans the continuum of care, beginning with strengthening primary healthcare systems and deepening integration with Ayushman Bharat to ensure wider coverage and continuity of care. With non-communicable diseases on the rise, a dedicated session on cancer care will explore pathways to improve early detection, treatment access, and quality outcomes across the state.
Deliberations will also examine the growing role of AI in addressing emerging health challenges, from predictive analytics to clinical decision support. The session on AI in healthcare will bring together prominent names such as Ritu Maheshwari, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Uttar Pradesh, Padma Shri Prof. Soniya Nityanand, Vice-Chancellor of KGMU and Dr. Susil Kumar Meher (AIIMS New Delhi).
Parallelly, discussions on hospitals and insurance will focus on expanding coverage while maintaining affordability—an essential balance in a price-sensitive and high-demand ecosystem.
The discussion will feature Archana Verma, CEO of the State Health Agency, along with Dr. Lokendra Gupta (Medanta Lucknow), Dr. Raj Gopal (Chandan Hospital), and Rajesh Kumar, General Manager, Union Bank of India. The conclave will also highlight opportunities in medical device manufacturing, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a potential hub in India’s push for healthcare self-reliance.
Recognising human resources as the backbone of healthcare delivery, the summit will address strategies to strengthen workforce capacity. Conversations will centre on skilling, training, and retaining healthcare professionals, particularly in underserved regions, to ensure that infrastructure expansion is matched by adequate human capital.
As Uttar Pradesh scales its healthcare ambitions, the need for cohesive action across government, industry, and academia is becoming increasingly critical. The ETGovernment Healthcare Conclave 2026 aims to catalyse this collaboration, fostering actionable dialogue and partnerships that can drive long-term, sustainable impact. The outcomes of these deliberations are expected to contribute meaningfully to building a healthcare ecosystem that is accessible, affordable, and resilient—aligned with the broader vision of a healthier and developed India.
