The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an advisory for candidates applying to the Constable (General Duty) positions in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, as well as Rifleman (GD) in the Assam Rifles Examination 2026. The Commission has recommended that applicants must complete their online submissions well before the final deadline of December 31, 2025, warning against last-minute delays.
As per the official notice, those attempting to apply on the closing day may encounter issues such as heavy website traffic, login failures, or unsuccessful submissions. SSC has firmly stated that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised to finalise their applications early to avoid potential technical or connectivity problems.
SSC GD Constable Vacancy Breakup
Candidates can make the online fee payment until January 1, 2026. A correction window will be available from January 8 to January 10, 2026, for any necessary modifications. As per the notification, a total of 25,487 vacancies will be filled, including 616 posts for BSF, 14,595 for CISF, 5,490 for CRPF, 1,764 for SSB, 1,293 for ITBP, 1,706 for Assam Rifles, and 23 for SSF.

Step 3: Fill in and upload documents under the personal, academic details.
Step 4: Check details and pay the fee, and download the form.
The application fee for SSC GD recruitment has been fixed at Rs 100. However, women candidates, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), as well as eligible Ex-Servicemen, are exempted from paying the fee, in accordance with SSC’s reservation and fee relaxation policies.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: Pay Scale
All posts under the SSC GD recruitment carry a pay scale at Pay Level–3, ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
The SSC GD selection process involves several stages to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation of candidates. It begins with a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Shortlisted candidates must then undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification.
